I am Michael Kanka, and I would like to introduce myself as your Photographer.

As a freelance Photographer I started my career shooting a variety of subjects, including press, commercial and industrial, sport, music, fashion, portraits and of course weddings and family.

Much of my work in the past has been done in Germany. After years of travelling I have found my favourite place to live: in beautiful Squamish. Here, on the doorstep of the great outdoors, I would like to add nature, landscape and wildlife images to my portfolio.

However, working with people is my first love, and is the focus of my photography.

My priority is to reflect the personalities of my clients and guests in an unobtrusive, relaxed and informal style. Shootings are a special occasion. The photographs taken and the images captured represent this very special moment and tell a story. Images are taken in a moment, but they preserve this moment for a lifetime, providing you with truly lasting images of your special event.

I work mostly in digital to speed up the process, offer web viewable results, and be able to digitally enhance picture quality, vibrancy, colours and size for perfect prints.
